So my brother was playing a song and it was my idea of good music. My mind was already far gone.....was thinking it was an American soul singer... Then I heard Shey Bi You Talk Se......So I asked please who am I listening to?!....Then he says its Retta.... Thinking i had never heard her he plays me her first single "Kolo for You" and then I remember it and I'm hooked. Her voice is not great or strong or anything like that.....its just a subtle sweetness and calmness of it....no matter who you are you're definitely gonna get hooked. And she sounds effortless....like shes playing with the song. She has had three singles the first being Kolo For You, the second being Would You Be Mine, and the latest one is Tomorrow... get them all....good Nigerian Music.... Big ups to the producer and writer Oscar Heman-Ackah.....good work on all the tracks.

Christina Perri.........Love Strong

So, Christina Perri......you know when you get lucky!....She is a perfect example. Her first single, "jar of hearts" was featured on So You Think Can Dance and the next thing.....people started buying her song. And already she is here this year with her album. The second single from the album is "arms"...... you may think her writing is sad...but she is is great with her metaphors. And of course she is branded as "pop" but with her lyrics you are getting a whole lot of depth. She not screaming at the top of her voice.......she may not be a great singer but she has got a unique voice. You listen to her lyrics and it gets into your heart and even if you haven't been in the situation she is in the song......you feel like you can feel what she is talking about..I think her writing is that amazing... So if you haven't heard her..... listen to "jar of hearts"....listen properly if you love it......then don't wait time thinking just get her album.....favourite tracks....Miles, Bang Bang Bang, Bluebird, Mine,Distance........#okbye

So here we go:1.Right here......Nicole ft 50 cent written by Ester Dean. This song has the ability to keep anybody dancing with its easy lyrics. The video is not over the top.... its just right!.....(my first ever Nicole song that I like since pussy cat dolls....#justsaying tho..).....JAM!!!!!..
2. Where dem girls at... David Guetta ft Florida nd Nicki Minaj..... So David Guetta may not be doing anything other than techno......bt let's admit it he's good at wot he does. He know's the right people to feature in his songs that make them hit songs. In this song tho.....‎​i av to say Florida was mudered nd buried by Nicki Minaj!!!......its nuffin less than a #JAM!!!!!
3, Tonight..... Pitbull ft Neyo..... So Pitbull whether he is rÀping in english or spanish. Or both.......you are going to be loving he's track anyday. And for Neyo that voice of his knows how to make a song without the help of any autotune wotsoever.......yet another JAM!!!! That is gonna keep you wÀiting for pitbull's ablum....which you can expect wonderful production because he is gonna be working with a lot of big producers in the industry....
..4.On the floor..... Jlo ft Pitbull..... Jlo has been in the music business for quite a while now and she still has the ability to make a hit song.......how?!.....‎​i think it all boils down to how your music is being produced. And on this track we have Pitbull making the track as interesting as ever......#JAM!!!!!! Nuffin less......
5. Don't Wanna Go Home.......Jason Derulo...... So he made a hit out of the sample of imogean heap's hide nd seek which he called wotcha say. When he's back sampling the chorus of the original 6ft 7ft song in a uniquely different way......This track is nuffin but interesting and there's no getting bored on this track......#JAM!!!!!

LUPE FIASCO_____ LASERS

Lupe Fiasco is mostly known for his track Kick,Push.He recently released the album 'Lasers". But he is doing his music different this time. There is a deviation from the normal old skoolish beats you are used to hearing on his tracks. This just makes his album more versatile so that if you didn't like him before there's a possibility that you'll like him now. The first single off the album was out late last year i.e. The show goes on As I already said it sounds different but in a good way. The chorus being very catchy and the verses being very deep. And he has released another single Words I never Said ft Skylar Grey(formerly Holly Brook)..... quite a deep song tho. One thing his not changing on this album is the depth and soul in his raps. He is as deep as ever hence his old fans are not disappointed.  In conclusion the Lasers album has songs that everybody can listen to......if you like rap though. Songs to look out for Out of my head ft Trey Song, Beatiful Lasers (2) ft MDMA, Never Forget you ft John Legend, Coming Up ft MDMA......#okbye

So the first thing you want to ask is why is everybody loving him now..... He's already released two studio albums. I'll tell you what I think makes him diferent from other rappers...... Clever Production. The producers this guy is working with are the producers you find working on Britney Spears, Rihanna, Katy Perry......yes! pop! Pop and Rap???? seriously?!.... but guess what It's working for him. He's first proper hit song was produced by Stargate (this is the first time Stargate would be producing proper rap songs I say proper rap because they have also worked with Florida) i.e. Black and Yellow and he's got another hit from the album which was produced by Stargate as well i.e. Roll up. He'son his way to gettting another hit which is No Sleep one of the producers being Benny Blanco who is famous for working with Britney Spears. But lets not forget him.... Wiz Khalifa I mean.... he has the ability to flow on a beat with so much ease which makes people instantly attracted to his songs. I can't even say specific songs to listen to in the album because all of them are on point.... But I like Get Your Shit though.....#justsaying

COUNTRY MUSIC NOT SOO COUNTRY ANYMORE....

Remember when anybody said country music the next thing you think about is.........a high pitched woman or guy with a deep voice heavily drowned in the countryman accent signing on some sappy guitar chords. Well its not like that anymore with acts like Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland who have come to make country music much more versatile.... we see that country music gets more attention in the music industry now. Everybody is capable of listening and loving it!!. The band perry is yet another band that has done the same i.e. infused some pop element into their country music on their very first album. And they are siblings as well!!! This gives them much more fan appeal. They write their songs and their lyrics are very mature and have deep meanings that gets you thinking about life in general. Although you may argue that the sound like Sugarland...... They are very easy to enjoy while listening to them. And it would definitely not be a waste of your time listening to their album!!!

Okay so we all heard "do it like a dude" and we figured oh this chick is pretty different.....for a British artiste. Then we heard "price tag" and we figured oh, she's not only hardcore she has pretty intense lyrics. As a critic you may think her album is scattered in a whole but when you listen to the individual songs......she's giving us different genres in one album. Of course the genre is branded as pop......but when you listen you are going to hear songs for Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera, Jazmine Sullivan......What I saying here is that she is able to do different variations of music and still sound dope. She has an amazing voice and she writes well also. If your still contemplating getting her album....listen to "who you are" and her other two singles mentioned above then you'll be convinced.

His voice is just............The notes he is able to hit....and when he does hit them you just want to loose yourself in his music.....yeah he is that good. And his lyrics...very intelligent...listen to "sure thing" (its on the album) and you'll see i'm not lying....

If your looking for a new R nd B album to listen to....

 

I should warn you though....If you can't listen to soul music just forget about it. This gets it when we are talking about R'n'B. Her lyrics just go straight to the heart with a combination of an old school jazzy feel and then you be relaxing or grooving to her music. And her voice is just amazingly soothing. Its incredibly good music that you shouldn't miss out on...

Ruggedman- Untouchable..... You are probably thinking Rugged man?...but this album jst shows that he not rotting away. His lines are very intelligent and you'll be happy you got this album.
Olamide- RapSoDI..... Plain and simple this guy is good at he does. His punchlines can get you cracked up.....Thats if you understand them though....if you dnt get somebody to translate them for you...then you'll see.
Vector-State of Surprise....Another talent young Nigerian Rapper. I can't say much you just need his album.....
